The first line of any Janet Evanovich novel should read "For a good time call." Formulaic yes, predictable no. When Grandma Mazur makes off with his "pot of gold" i.e. Evanovich never fails to deliver a full spectrum of laughter from giggles to I-might-have-just-peed-my-pants roaring hilarity. In this little ditty Stephanie and co, with the help of the elusive Diesel are hot on the trail of a wanna-be leprechaun. duffel bag full of cash, and heads to Atlantic City, Stephanie has to add grandma to her list of skips or face her mother. All your favorites make an appearance and of course something blows up.
Loved the book. As with every Janet Evanovich book, it's well written and a very cute story.
I find myself constantly checking to see she has anything new. I must admit I like this author very much and wish she would write more books. When I start one of her books, it doesn't take me very long to finish. Her characters are entertaining, interesting, lovable and sometimes "out there". But that's how great writers 'get you'. Grandma is the best. If you want to read for fun, I think you'll enjoy her stories.
She has a hilarious helper, an ex 'ho, an eccentric family that is marvelously funny, and a couple men in her life she seems to not be able to choose from. I hope "bounty hunter" doesn't turn prospective readers away. Author Janet Evanovich writes an excellent fictional series of books based on a young woman, Stephanie Plum, who is a bounty hunter. In 'Plum Lucky', Stephanie's grandmother is kidnapped by a mobster for stealing his money. The books are not technical, and not all guns and crooks. She earns money by finding and turning in people who were bonded out of jail by her cousin's bondsman's office, skipped their court date and, therefore, caused the bond money to be lost. Tossed into the mix are a horse that can communicate with people, a man that thinks he is a leprechaun, and "Diesel" - a big guy who helps Stephanie and that some people think has alien powers. This is one of the funniest Stephanie Plum novels I've read. The book is a fast read and a good page turner.
I always enjoy the Stephanie Plum novels. These are best read when you have nothing else to do because you will want to read it cover to cover. These are just for fun novels, and they are fun. Stephanie has a crazy family, a crazier job and an interesting love life. It does not matter if you have read the series or not, you can pick this book up and have a wonderful afternoon. I think these are great books to sit front of the fire with on a cold evening.
